VESUVIUS provides a complete service for all the steelmakers' tundish requirements.

Tundish Gas Diffuser

During operation the Tundish Gas Diffuser diffuser will help reduce "dead" areas within the tundish and provide a more stable steel temperature in the tundish bath. In addition, the micro bubble stream, across the full tundish width, will remove small inclusions very effectively.

Prior to caster start-up the tundish can be flooded with argon via the diffuser to reduce nitrogen pick-up.

The argon diffuser is manufactured utilising specifically designed high quality materials to maximise refractory performance. A unique state-of-the-art production process is used to produce a piece giving micro bubble size uniformly distributed over the desired area.

As part of the service, VESUVIUS can carry out modelling studies to determine the optimum position of the diffuser and other tundish furniture, to maximise the positive effects.
