Tundish Lining
VESUVIUS' broad-based refractory capabilities allows us to expand our view of the tundish as a steel "processing" vessel, providing a wide range of monolithic refractory products for tundish linings.

Spray
Basilite® Series Spray Mixes
Basilite® is a wet slurry mix applied through a spray machine. VESUVIUS supplies a wide range of spray mixes. Some mixes are in the density range of 85 to 90 lbs/cu ft (1,360 to 1,440 kgm-3). Other mixes are denser (100+ lbs/cu ft or 1,600 kgm-3) for tougher application. The product is also offered in a range of MgO content.
- Dry, fine grained MgO aggregates, fillers and foaming agent for porosity and binder
- Mixed with water (20%) and pumped
- Air introduced at end of nozzle to disperse wet mix

Dry Vibration
Basivibe™ Series Dry Vibration Mixes
Basivibe™ is a dry granular vibration mix installed using a heated form. VESUVIUS supplies a wide range of dry vibration mixes. All mixes are in the density range of 130 to 135 lbs/cu ft (2,080 to 2,160 kgm-3). The product is also offered in a range of MgO content and designed for Hot Practice or Cold Practice tundishes:
- Dry, fine grained MgO aggregates, resin for low temp curing and binder
- Installed dry against a steel form
- Form is heated to 500°F (260°C) to set product.

- Basivibe™ HP 90
