The use of a KALPUR direct pour sleeve allows elimination of the traditional runner system. This broadly used technology enables foundries to reduce the quantity of iron returns and therefore save energy, resulting in reduced CO2 emissions. The application of KALPUR on the casting shown leads to a saving of 15 kg of iron per casting. Besides the savings in energy the reduction of the pouring weight enables an increase of the productivity by 10%.
