LOW PRESSURE TUBES

RISER TUBES
The “Global Range” concept is offered to meet our customers’ requirements for the wide variety of Aluminium Low Pressure Diecasting Machines used around the world.

    • SILICON NITRIDE : the long life option, generally in excess of one year, with guaranteed "zero" permeability. Totally unaffected by aluminium and its alloys and ultra high compressive strength allowing the full ceramic flange design.
    • ZYACAST : a cement bonded, low cost, insulating, fused silica material having good life
    • ZYAROCK : almost pure fused silica having very good thermal shock resistance and low thermal conductivity
    • VISOMELT : a carbon bonded Silicon Carbide with minimal wetting characteristics
    • DIAMANT : clay bonded graphite designed for ultra low-pressure applications

PRESSURE-TIGHT THERMOCOUPLE SHEATH
It is important to use Pressure-Tight thermocouple sheaths for Low Pressure Diecasting.
    • VISOMELT – specially constructed carbon bonded Silicon Carbide sheath providing the pressure-tight option with a threaded connector.
    • EKathermR – a long life pressure sintered Silicon Nitride sheath with zero open porosity having fast temperature response.

ALUCEL FILTERS
Filters can be positioned in a Low-Pressure riser tube to reduce inclusions and provide non-turbulent aluminium flow.
    • High quality, fully sintered “self-bonded” filters with consistently high proportion of open pores
    • High surface area filter available for high flow rates of aluminium and extended casting times
    • Stronger and less friable with reduced “snowing effect”
    • Improved thermal shock resistance
    • Available in a range of pore sizes
    • More chemically inert

LOW-PRESSURE FURNACE LININGS
    • Crucibles : a range of superior quality Silicon Carbide or Clay Graphite crucibles available for low-pressure diecasting.
    • Monolithics : corundum growth can accelerate in low-pressure diecasting applications unless the Monolithics have been specially formulated. Vesuvius has developed a range of Monolithics either cement bonded or phosphate bonded to resist the formation of Corundum. These have minimum water additions to allow fast dry-out with decreased downtime.
