The MTNP is a significant development in the design of tundish refractories.
There are 3 main advantages over traditional designs:
- No joint between the nozzle and the top plate eliminates air ingress and is a significant step in reducing re-oxidation, clogging and formation of macro inclusions.
- The installation of tundish gate refractories is far simpler - no more jigs for nozzle setting and misaligned joints.
- Ease of separation after.
