Vesuvius Advanced Robotic Gunning (VARG)
The next generation package for laser-guided automated refractory gunning for BOFs, EAFs and Ladles
VARG (Vesuvius Advanced Robotic Gunning) is a cutting-edge solution designed for the maintenance of Basic Oxygen Furnaces (BOFs), Electric Arc Furnaces (EAFs), and Ladles in the steelmaking industry. Repairing these furnaces is often time-consuming and hazardous, exposing repair teams to high heat loads and disrupting steel production schedules. To address these challenges, VARG combines state-of-the-art robotic gunning technology with the advanced Laser Contouring System ANTERIS 360. This innovative system optimizes repair parameters, ensuring accurate and repeatable repairs while minimizing downtime. Key benefits of VARG include improved safety by removing personnel from hazardous environments, enhanced repair efficiency, and greater control over the repair schedule. Additionally, it reduces waste through precise material application onto the walls.
