Vesuvius is committed to working with our suppliers to encourage them to implement a meaningful sustainability programme, embrace the UNGC principles, evaluate and reduce our upstream CO2 emissions.
As part of this, in 2020 we launched a supplier assessment programme to rate our raw materials suppliers based on a detailed set of criteria, covering four areas: Labour and Human Rights, Ethics, Environment and Sustainable Procurement.
Our original objective to enrol 50% of suppliers by 2023 was achieved in 2021 and we continue to work hard to bring other suppliers into the programme.
