Ladle

For metal transfer vessels (ladles), Process Metrix has developed a range of laser-delivery systems to improve scanning operations in the plant. From traditional measurement to insertable lasers, we will work with you to select the project with the best performance/cost ratio.

Applications

  • Steel Ladles
  • Iron Ladles
  • Other Ladles

Relevant products

  • ANTERIS 360
  • ANTERIS 300s
  • ANTERIS 300r
  • ANTERIS 300c

ANTERIS 360

The ultimate scanner

There are plants in which the skull build-up over the lip is so large (as cannot be cleaned regularly) that a portion of the wall would be missed if scanned by a regular fixed unit. In such cases, an insertable system will provide a safe and complete measurement in a single scan!

One scan and DONE!

As for other products, PMC can provide a wide range of delivery systems (manipulator arms) for both vertical and horizontal measurement stations.

Benefits

  • Safety
  • Ultimate scanning efficiency (single 360 degree scan)
  • Can be inserted (almost) in any vessel
  • Optimizes vessel availability
  • Extension of refractory lifetime
  • Highly customizable solution for most applications
  • Fastest, most accurate scanner on the market

ANTERIS 300s

A cut in the floor…

For most refractory thickness measurement in ladles, a simple layout can be found which does not require much civil works. For example, an installation on the furnace floor above the ladle transfer car is often available. Such cases will be the best value as there is no need for extra hardware and the installation is typically light.

Benefits

  • Safety
  • Increased efficiency
  • Increased vessel availability
  • Extension of refractory lifetime
  • Best value for fixed head laser

ANTERIS 300r

Robotic arm

When handling solutions are needed to go around retrofit challenges, such as:

  • Laser head is located over a ladle and must clear the crane hook
  • A single laser head must be multiplexed and cover multiple ladle stations

In almost all cases Process Metrix and Vesuvius can offer a custom-made and flexible solution with a robotic arm design and turn-key project.

Benefits

  • Safety
  • Increased efficiency
  • Increased vessel availability
  • Extension of refractory lifetime
  • Customized to your needs

ANTERIS 300c

Container

Whichever location is right for a fixed laser ladle project, if it does not require an arm and time is tight, then the ANTERIS 300c is an easy and clean way to speed-up installation in this self-contained solution.

The shipping container is used as the enclosure for the laser unit. All components are pre-tested at the factory and the few connections to the plant (all fluids and signal) can be made quickly as soon as the container is bolted in its final position. The best solution for projects with tight deadlines or short shut-downs!

Benefits

  • Safety
  • Increased efficiency
  • Increased vessel availability
  • Extension of refractory lifetime
  • Fastest installation
